How To Adjust A New Martingale Collar
Martingale Dog Collars have a back adjusting buckle to adjust the collar to fit your dog. You will find that buckle over to one side of the collar. To adjust the collar to fit your dog place the collar on a flat surface or table and open the collar to a round circular shape. (Please See Photos Above). To expand or decrease the size of the collar you will need to use one hand to hold the back adjusting buckle and the other hand to feed the collar gently through the adjusting buckle until the collar is adjusted to fit your dog. Then slip the martingale collar over your dog’s head and position the collar in a comfortable spot around the middle of your dog’s neck. When the collar is on your dog, feed the collar back through the adjusting buckle to take up any slack. Periodically check the adjustment of the collar to make sure it has a proper fit.
Martingale collars are a partial choke type collar that will tighten with the front loop attached to the d-ring when pulled on. Never use any type of martingale dog collar or choke collar to tie your dog up outside on a rope, chain or cable unattended. If you leave your dog alone or in a cage while at work or when you go out it is not recommended to leave any type of collar on your dog. Some dogs (especially young dogs) can tangle their collar on objects or cages or find a way to get the collar off and chew it up.
